"If you don't like starting over..."

STOP GIVING UP!

After eating like shit, and not working out,
the scale and I were friends off this morning!
So I laid back in bed and wallowed for a few
minutes in self pity...
And then got up and got on the treadmill. I
feel better already even though I'm a tomato
face. Next up {After a mini blog break of course}
making a healthy dinner for work tonight and then
washing my disgustingly greasy hair! HAHA

Sunshine and Snow

A few weeks ago, after humming and hawing,
we decided to hit the slopes and head to Fernie
for a mini ski day! It did not disappoint!
My legs were hell-of-a sore for about 3 days post,
but we got some sunshine on our faces and
burned a few calories while we were at it!
Plus I got to wear my ice-cream sundae socks and
drink my dads coffee so
it was a win/win!

Back To It

I was a lucky duck this week and
snagged 2 overtime shifts which will
hopefully going towards that hot holiday
that we both REALLY want to do this
spring. That being said, they were unexpected
to my meal prep fell behind. I didn't fall too far
off the wagon though so that's a
relief. I ran 5 days in a row so I took
yesterday off running as well as it was
a rest day of the squat challenge.
The running must have been keeping
me stretched because my hips were so
sore last night after doing neither during the
day. OUCH! Back to the grind though. Gotta
get this body turned around to regular
hours because I don't want to sleep
this weekend away!!!! We are going to be
getting our house all Christmafied!
I'm excited that the festive season is upon
us and want to enjoy the next little while we have
off together. Rhys has been hitting the gym as
well so between us both working OT
and working out, we haven't seen much of
each other this week. Next week I'm back on
nights which is always a treat ;)

Beets, Beets, the Magical....errrrr Fruit?

I have been trying to find more creative ways to
get my veggies in, because let's face it-
I would rather eat bread, pasta, and cereal.
My spiralizer has paid of a million times over again
NO JOKE.
I love love love this thing.
My newest fav is spiralized beets with dill, steamed
and then mixed with 1- 25calorie laughing
cow {french onion flav}
SOOOOOO good!
I also made a big pot of borscht so I
could have a snack or a hot lunch
in a  pinch. Boy is that paying off with these
2 night shifts I've picked up.

Lucky Me

Earlier this week Rhys and I had to have
a little sit down about stepping up the romance.
Life has been pretty busy lately and I've been
feeling like we are just going through the
daily motions without really connecting
to our life that we currently have.
Maybe one day we will have a family and life
will be even busier and we will wish that we
took the time to enjoy it just being the
two of us. I've been noticing people {including us}
are always "plugged in". The other day, we were
sitting down to dinner and instead of actually
talking to each other we were
both on our phones. I, probably on instagram, him
probably looking up military stuff.
The flowers, make surprise
dinners and writing me cheesy little love notes
in my lunch bag slowly stopped. Probably
because life just keeps carrying on and you
lose track of those things, maybe because I used
to make fun {playfully}, whatever the reason- both
of us decided we needed to step up our game.
Well lucky for me Rhys went out and grabbed
a beautiful tenderloin and boy was it tasty!
We have been eating chicken, chicken, and more
chicken, so the pork was sooooo good!
I made up a side of riced cauliflower with chives,
low fat mushroom soup, and low fat feta. Mmmm.
All around it was a lovely dinner and hopefully we
can keep up the no electronics at the table deal!

Weekly Wrap

This week went pretty well in terms of
goals. I drank more water, did my meal prep,
got back into a sleep cycle, and lost
2lbs! Woo-Hoo! It's a small
loss but it's in the right direction so
I will take it!
This week I need to focus on using
my time more effectively.
EVERYDAY I was at the grocery
store, which luckily a new one
opened right outside Auburn Bay, but
still.... I hate grocery shopping, so to
torture myself everyday is
ridiculous. I also want to start
getting some Christmas crafts done
and enjoy some quiet time at home.
Our Fernie trip is right around the corner
and I have a few things I need to get
organized for that as well as
make a couple easy meals for 10 people
while we are out there....
Anyways, gonna go enjoy my day off
with the hubs.

This weeks goals are:
1. Continue with my water challenge
2. Meal prep and stick to proper eating times
3. Take more photos
4. Get my Christmas bunting done

His and Hers

This was dinner last night. Yummy. Not gonna
lie, I may or may not have had some
of Rhys' too. Seriously... Cheap pepp
pizza is my FAV. But I did
make my cauliflower pizza and had
pesto, green olives, red pepper, and shrimp
on it. It was super tasty. I poured the
tiniest glass of red and had 2 sips and
decided it wasn't worth the calories

I'm at work tonight and unfortunately didn't wake
up soon enough to eat lunch, make dinner, and
get a workout in. SO... I missed lunch and now I'm
hungry!!!! I just had dinner and feel like I could eat
another. haha. Oh lord.
Teaches me for sleeping in. Luckily I think
my sleep is back on track. I fell to sleep
before midnight and was up at 1030!
That's reason to celebrate!
And since I have about 700 calories left to
eat today, I'm thinking a skinny cow is
calling my name when I get home!

Mighty Sleepy

Night shifts are a bugger. I'm still trying to
turn around from my shift on Tuesday and
I have to say it's been pretty quiet around the house.
Mostly because Rhys doesn't want to come
anywhere near me! Haha. Ugh. It's so hard
not be be cranky when you feel so sleep
deprived. Although I've still been getting
5 hours which should be enough, when
you aren't going to sleep until 6am... It
doesn't seem to matter how much sleep you
get. It's just not the same as getting a few hours
at night when you SHOULD be sleeping.
Today was no different except I had a date
planned with my friend Lindsey, so I was up
and at it earlier than normal these days.
It was such a tread to climb out of my shower
onto a new SUPER comfy bath mat and nice
peach towel. Ahhhh. It's the small things in life man!

I also set a goal with myself last night that I would
finish off the 4 liter water jug I had in my fridge
today. I probably had 3 liters to drink. My
legs are feeling achy today from my
squats and jog yesterday but it feels good to
have a little sore in my muscles. I've finished 40
of my 60 squats for the day and cauliflower crust
pizza and a nice glass of red is the agenda for the
evening. Hopefully that will knock me out so I get to
sleep early tonight!!!!!

Thursday 14 November 2013

Good Friends

Good friends are hard to find. After receiving this
delightful text, I officially have someone to kick
my tush {literally} into gear.
Day one was 50 squats- they got done
around midnight. I decided that
an earlier start was probably
a good idea. Except I didn't look at the
chart so I did 5 extra squats today! Rats!
Hahaha. Anyways. 2 days of the squat challenge
complete and I even got on the
treadmill for a half an hour walk/jog
and then did some major stretching and
free weights. Life feels good tonight.... UNTIL
I opened out mail to see Rhys has $650 worth of
long distance charges. See ya later
feel good endorphins! Fingers crossed it's a
mistake and it will get sorted in the morning.

Wednesday 13 November 2013

Broken City

My sister's boyfriend Kyle was asked to open a
show last night at Broken City! This was his first
paid gig and while I was really tired and nearly
bailed, the text saying that she was
bummed that we weren't going to come was
enough to get my tush out of bed and head
downtown. Luckily Rhys and I had passed out for
almost 3 hours evening so even though Rhys
had to be up at 430 this morning, I think
he is doing okay.
Kyle put on a great show! I know he
does hip hop, and Amy said it wasn't
really "mainstream" so I wasn't sure what
to expect. The first guy did more mainstream
rap, and he was honestly pretty good.
Rap isn't really my thing, but live performance
is always different than listening to an album.
Kyle however is an artist. He does his own thing.
He isn't trying to be anybody else but him, and it
was SHOCKING.
Kyle is QUIET, like quiet quiet quiet. In the
10 hours I've spend with him, he has probably said
all of 10 words. So to see him get up on stage and have
"characters" was really cool. Rhys was so impressed,
on the drive home he just kept saying that he
finally kinda gets who Kyle is. It was really
awesome to see him in his element and we
were even tucked away in bed before midnight.

Tuesday 12 November 2013

I suck at life.

So my weekly goal list was lame.
The only thing I stuck to was eating clean.
I perfected my bowl of zoodles and I'm
still in love. I don't know if I will ever eat
regular pasta again to be honest. They taste
good, have great texture and a small zucchini
is only 20 cals. Yup... pasta is out.
I'm going to continue on with my weekly
goal list and hopefully stick to it this week.
Rhys and I had a great couple days off
together. It's been over 6 weeks since we
had days off together that we stayed home
to enjoy. It was delightful to be at home
on snowy days just reading, catching up on
shows, and hanging out together.
I've been making more of an effort to get
home to the farm and see my sisters but
sometimes a weekend at home is really nice,
especially when ever other is spend at work.
I love my .7 and don't think at this point I
will be giving it up for quite some time but the
working every other weekend is kinda a drag.

This weeks goals are:
1. Meal prep and eat according to plan
2. DRINK 2.5 liters of water/day
3. Exercise 3x
4. Start the 30 day squat challenge

As most of you know, I was not blessed with
a Kim Kardashian booty and I would love a little
more junk in the trunk so here's to doing a bazillion
squats!

ZOODLES

I've found a new love of my life... Sorry Rhys.
It came wrapped in a nice brown box and gleamed
white and shiny when opened. Thanks
to World Cuisine, I am the proud
new owner of a spiralizer.
I've made a zoodle meal 2 days in a row
and I'm hooked. My fav was using zoodles
with tomato sauce and chicken meatballs.
I swear I could eat that every day for the next
month. SOOOOO good.

Sunday 3 November 2013

November Goals

Well a quick dash to the farm this weekend to grab
the treadmill has sparked a fire under my behind.
My meal plan is ready. Hair, groceries, and meal prep
is the game plan for tomorrow. I'm making some
Weekly and Monthly goals to try to keep me from
going off course while I'm  trying to create healthy habits.

My goals for this week are:
1. Meal prep and eat what is on the plan
2. To workout 4x with a combo of weights and cardio
3. Spend my spare time reading, not watching TV
4. Drink 3 liters of water/day

My Goals for the month are:
1. Continue to meal plan and prep weekly
2. NO PIZZA
3. Focus on sleep routines
4. Stick to my workout plan

The Lake

We only made it to the lake once this year
which is kinda disappointing but at the same time,
we picked the perfect weekend to go!
The drive out was a bit slow with construction but
when we showed up, everyone was already there
and the drive was forgotten. The weather was HOT
and our campsite was flooded so with a bit
of tricky maneuverings and a lot of sweating
the trailer was in the perfect spot, our suits
were on, and we were in the lake!
{Everyone had a great time painting garden creatures}

{Rhys' creature took him about 5 min to complete}
{Every morning Eddie smushed his face against the screen
}
{Luckily we were able to get in a round of golf}
{Boat jumping in the middle of the lake. Millie of course has to join the fun}

{And Eddie just wanted to be a mountain goat}

{Lucy was such a good sport even though she had a dry summer}

{Eddie getting his tan on}

{Eddie loves boating}
{And of course I fried}

{But nothing can't be fixed with Smore's}

{You can't beat Koocanusa}

Fall Routine

Fall has definitely arrived. We held out as long as
we could but finally turned the furnace on last night.
As much as we tried to just snuggle up to keep warm...
It just wasn't cutting it. Fall means routine to me.
It's so easy over the summer to be a bit more
fly by the seat of my pants. Not eating the best
foods, having a few too many tasty drinks, smore's
by the campfire.
I'm looking forward to cleaning up my flowers this week
and getting out patio furniture put away.
There is a lot up in the air regarding some medical
surprises but I think making some freezer meals
and getting back into a healthy routine
will be the best thing for those days where you just
need to watch TV in bed. And of course
to catch up the blog... Summer was pretty busy and
it's time to get things posted with a nice latte in hand.

At Home Workout

I finally made my way to fitness depot today.
There are a few things we have been using at the gym
that I figured could be a sound investment for at home.
I ended up with 2 resistant bands, one bender ball,
a GLORIOUS mat, and an antiburst "yoga?" ball.
Workout tonight had me sweating buckets but it
sure feels good crawling into bed knowing that
my muscles have been used and I didn't have to
leave home to do it!

Wednesday 4 September 2013

Wild

Travel books have become my fav. I love hearing
of people's adventures and the experiences they have while
seeing the world. This was an incredible book. It brought
me to tears a few times. I've read another book that
inspired me to want to do some hiking, but this one was
something different. It felt more tangible, less of a far
away dream. Anyways, I talked to Rhys for DAYS about this
hiking idea and slowly he got just as excited as I did.
Our goal is to do the West Coast trail. Hopefully next
summer or the summer after. The hike is definitely a long
term goal that could not make me more excited.
Anyways... This book was INCREDIBLE. I
read most of it over my week at the lake and loved
every minute of it. Although most is spent rambling
about the monotony of the hike, you really FEEL
what she is feeling. My feet hurt just with her words, my
legs ached, anxiety hits your stomach at parts, and the
kinship she finds on the trail is something that
just makes you feel good.
Highly Recommend!

Hitting the Deck

After my training session today, we were doing some
post stretching when all of a sudden a cool sweat came over me.
The nausea began to rise which made me bolt to the washroom
to only then realize I was going to hit the deck. I sat down
{yup- in the bathroom... which could make you barf}
Luckily a cool cloth and a couple crackers made
the world stop spinning. Within 5 minutes I felt back to
normal. How embarrassing. Guess I'm going to be eating
something before my training sessions from now on!

Monday 2 September 2013

Too Much

Well I was a total moron and signed myself
up for too many days in a row at work. It seemed
like a good idea at the time but it wasn't.
Luckily my good pal Amber took today and tomorrow
off my hands and I took vacation. It is always a bummer
to waste vacation days on events such as this
but luckily with being a .7 vacation isn't quite
as precious as it was when I was full time.
So instead of heading to work with a frown on
my face, I went to the grocery store with a smile.
I also got prepped for the next few days so
I wasn't tempted to eat pizza pops for lunch!
I love when the fridge is clean and fresh food is
readily available.
Now off for day 1 of running. Eeks.

Sunday 1 September 2013

It's over

I know life could be worse...
But today sucked.
I'm so glad it's fricken over.

Thursday 22 August 2013

The work before the fun

So while all this crazy wedding business was going on,
I offered up our place to host the bridal shower. While I
do kind of like hosting things like this... There is still
quite a bit of things around the house and outside
that need to be done. Let me tell you, new builds are a pain
in the butt when it comes to finishing your yard and making
your place a little less "builder beige".
We put lots of money into the yard last year so this
was the year for labour and next year maybe we can
just enjoy the yard?!?!?!
Anyways, we started holidays and decided it was best to
stay home for a few days to put some muscle in so that
I wasn't so overwhelmed coming back to do
it while on nights... on a stretch of 15.

So while I was busy staining the deck... My mom was
torturing me with photos of the lake and how beautiful it was.

I finally got the columns painted on our porch
which I've wanted to do for the
last year and got our little star hung up. The porch
still needs to be stained which fingers crossed I am doing
today once I wake up.
And of course we still had a bit of fun. We splashed at the
Auburn Bay spray park, played 2 rounds of golf,
went paddle boarding twice. All in all I would say we
had some successful work days before we
got to play.

Tuesday 20 August 2013

Bachelorette

I'm kind of a party pooper. I like to be in my
jammies on a Saturday night curled up with Rhys, but
when I realized that we would indeed be home
for Paige's bachelorette, I decided that I did NEED
to make an appearance. Plans were set.
We were all supposed to dress up as a Disney
princess but those who know me, KNOW that there
is no way in hell I would draw more attention to
myself by dressing up in costume to head to a bar
on 17th ave. So I went instead as Ursula {the sea witch}
Hello black dress and purple sandals! Haha.
I picked up Shandell and Vanessa {2 other bridesmaids}
and we headed to The National.
Food was tasty... But it was LOUD. Like LOUD LOUD.
We couldn't even talk to the person sitting next to you.
We left 3 hours later with the 3 of us having a titch of a
headache. Jeez. I am a granny.
We then headed to a karaoke bar on 11th ave.
Once again... NOT something introverted little me would
ever pick to participate in but I figured that I would go,
sit, laugh, have a good time with the rest of the crew.
Everything there was actually fun... Until it wasn't.
So Shandell, Vanessa, and myself took our butts home
around midnight. I survived!

Tuesday 13 August 2013

Tired Tuesday

I'm mostly writing this post to give me something to do
so that I don't fall asleep. It
was a busy day around the William house.
Rhys was up first thing this morning tackling our
stair project. I putzed around and made bfast
before getting my gym gear on and heading
to my training session.
Let me tell you. 10 min in and I was
sweating up a storm. Whew... She had me up
and down and all around. It felt good to be using
muscles that I don't normally feel worked.
My arms felt like jelly by the time I left an
hour and a half later.
When I got home Rhys informed me that he booked
a tee time for 3... which gave me just enough time
to rest for about 20 min before changing again and
heading out the door.
We finally checked out Lil devil which is a little
9 hole walking course right down in the coulee off
22x. We had so much fun. It was definitely a bit
of a work out. It was nice to use some of the
clubs that you don't usually get to use often.
I can see us going there quite often now. Especially
with the two of us... We breezed through and it
took just under an hour and a half to do 9 holes.
Still need some work on the short game but it's finally
coming along.
Well... Now we are off to do a little paddle boarding.
That darn bridesmaid dress is still looking REALLY
tight. 5 weeks to go which means I need to step it
up in the workout department.
Guess it's time to get the running shoes on!

Feeling Lucky

Yesterday began at 7am when I woke up
on my own! We began the day by both jumping
up and starting to do our housework that we
had planned. I finished painting the columns on our
porch and Rhys began to put the edging in
on the garden we made. Both took WAY longer than
we anticipated but wrapped them up around noon.
Then we hung up the star we found at the
garden centre earlier this spring and we
called it a day on the "yard work".
Both of us then headed for a nap.

As we were working away yesterday morning,
I couldn't help but think "thank god we don't have
kids yet".... It's an odd thought, one that doesn't
pop into my head often. But, all the work
we have been doing around the house probably
wouldn't be possible if we had a baby to be
taking care of or a toddler to chase after.
Things would definitely be a lot more difficult, AND
our glorious afternoon naps we have on the weekends
would not be in the cards either.

After we woke up from napping, we tinkered around
a bit before deciding to throw our clubs in the car
and hit the driving range. We both wanted to check out
Blue Devil and thought this was the prime
opportunity. They have grass tee's which are AWESOME.
Most places have mat's and you really don't get the same
feel of a true swing. I finally felt like I was
starting to get the hang of my new rescue
so I call that a success.

We also decided that we really needed to hit the lake.
After the driving range we were both a bit
sweaty and hot so after grabbing some salads
from Subway we got our suits on and hit
the beach. We both took out the
stand up paddle-boards and had a blast.
I've wanted to try paddle boarding for quite some time
but always found and excuse not to go.
Well it was SO MUCH FUN! I luckily didn't
fall off once. Rhys bailed twice but it's
because in true boy fashion he had to try
to go as fast as he possibly could. He is
also a much stronger swimmer than I am
so the fear was nowhere to be found with him.
I on the other hand am planning to wear a life
jacket next time just to calm my little
worrier nerves. I kept imagining me hitting my head
and drowning.
{This is why I shouldn't work at FMC}
There are lots of places that offer lessons and we did
look into it, but in the end decided it was
best to give it a go on our own and if it
was too difficult then we would
look into a lesson. Luckily Auburn House
purchased some top of the line beginner
boards so the stability on them was awesome
and easy to get the hang of. I was
thinking that maybe we should get some
as an investment. They also retail at
$2000... NOT gonna happen.

It's been a long LONG time since
I've had enough energy to even wake up on
my own when my body is ready. My body
hasn't felt energized like this, my guess is about a
year now. It finally feels good to be able
to do the things I've been wanting to do for
so long. I also need to remember that even
though I'm starting to feel better, I probably
should refrain from doing it all in one day.
Most of today was spend between the kitchen, my
bed, and the couch.

Friday 9 August 2013

Date

It's been a long lonely few weeks in the Williams
house. We have both been working above and beyond
our normal schedule which means we are on
polar opposite schedules. We were both
officially supposed to start holidays tonight at 530
but of course Rhys picked up tomorrow OT. Oh well
one more day won't hurt and at the end of the
day he does it to provide so I can't complain.

I spent most of today shopping for an outfit to
wear to the bachelorette party tomorrow night
and finally settled on black on black on black. With
fun shoes. Hahahahaha. Token fat girl wardrobe!
Shopping has been quite a torturous experience the
last couple years. I look  forward to feeling excited for
shopping again and not the nagging dread.
It helps to have supportive
positive people in my life. The reassurance that this
is a journey not a race helps keep the
self doubt and guilt at bay.

We decided that we deserved a date night though.
I honestly can't remember the last time we actually
went out for a meal where it was just the two
of us. Kind of sad actually.
The food was delish. There is nothing like a good
steak when you've been loading yourself with chicken.
We both turned our phones off and had a nice
chit chat. Although the table next to ours was REALLY
noisy. Then it was off to Golftown to grab some more
balls. {Man I burn through those!!!!}
I also pulled out the workbook I'm using as a
compliment to my diet I'm taking on. I filled
out all the beginner exercises and feel great.
Tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start.

Monday 5 August 2013

Down Down Down

Well I am thrilled to report that after 3 days of
"dieting" I am officially down 2.5lbs
I know I know... 2.5lbs is a LONG way from
the goal but in 3 days!!!! I will
take it with a smile on my face!
It has also helped the cheater cravings {and cave ins}
of the last couple days. Every day I've caved with one meal.
But hey it's the long weekend right?!??! And
I really can't get Rhys to eat like a rabbit.
SOOOOO... This is the week to kick it into high
gear and get that carby sugar cravings
out of my system!
Today is day 8 of 9 and then I'm off for a
couple weeks so I have no excuse not to get
organised and prepped.
Praying for a easy super stat day at work today
to peruse pinterest and find good recipes!
Happy Heritage day!

On Self Improvement

About the middle of June I decided that I
needed to start being a more positive person.
I thought of a few things about myself that I wasn't liking
and decided to try to change them. Two months later
I think I have shown some improvement.

One of the ways I thought was bringing down my
spirit was being gossipy... It is easy to
get caught up in the moment and say things
that you don't necessarily mean to. I wanted to
try to keep those negative things in my head and not let
them slip out my lips in hope that eventually
they would just stop entering my thoughts. While
I have definitely had a few slip ups, I have noticed a huge
change! The things that were annoying my about certain
people have for the most part gone away.
It is nice to start seeing the positive things about people
that for a while were non existent.

I also wanted to put more of an effort in with relationships
that I value. I often don't free enough of my spare time
to nurture the friendships I care about. While I haven't
been able to see lots of these people one on one
I have stepped up to the plate and have
inquired more about what is going on in
their lives and are more engaged in what they are doing
and how they are doing. I have also realised that there
are a few friendships that are cracked at the
foundation and are unlikely to be repaired. Time to MOVE ON!
Spending energy and effort with friendships that
aren't meant to be is exhausting and takes
away from the ones that truly matter.

Most of all I think my patience has grown which
is not my strong suit, so any help in
that department is most welcome!!!!!

Happy Thursday!

Fun in the Sun

We were so looking forward to this weekend at
the lake... But after my parents had to deal with
burying a horse Friday morning we decided
that maybe the farm was where we needed to be.
So after an hour and a half detour and 3.5 hours
later we arrived in Magrath.
The weekend was so much fun even though
swimming didn't happen.
We played 2 rounds of golf on Saturday.
Seriously... Tuckered us out.
Sunday was another round of golf and checking
out my Uncle's new acreage.
And of course getting some time in with my little girlies.
ON HAPPY NEWS!
My appointment went really well today! Such a
huge relief. The last week was pretty rough but
I feel good! So now I need to get my trainer booked,
get on a good healthy eating plan on Wednesday and
start putting the hard work in to live a healthier life.
Fingers crossed that by the time surgery comes
I will be healthy, happy, and comfortable.

Phewf... Golfing is tough work!

Waking Up

Still many of things going on inside this head of
mine but the most common theme is fear.
Fear of many things which after Monday I will
feel more freely to talk about.
That being said I also keep thinking about
health. Health and fitness is something that
has sparked my interest for the last couple years
and yet doing it... not so much.
Maybe this is just the kind of thing that pushes you
outside your comfort zone. It's time to take
some control back over my body and do things
that I am going to feel good about. I think
the emotional effect will be helpful and of course
any sort of physical help at this point will be
needed.
SOOOOOO....
I have an appointment tomorrow morning to see
a trainer that I keep looking up. Her studio is on a little
acreage outside DeWinton so it's a hop skip and a jump
from our house which is nice. I also have an
appointment on Wednesday to see a
Naturopathic doctor that I have been looking at
for the last year on and off. If anything good comes
from all this, I hope that it is this wake up call.

Keep Calm and Clean On

I've always been one to clean or eat my
mood away. Usually anger results in eating.
Usually anxiety results in cleaning.
Well today I'm cleaning my little heart out.
My mind is playing tricks on me. The "what if's"
are going to drive me nutty. I swear there
is a little OCD in my blood because I've
never been one to be able to think about
something else when I have something on my mind.
And today there is a big something on my mind.
Hopefully on Monday I will have more answers
and I can Keep Calm and Carry On.

Relief

It feels so good to be at home in my office
typing this and knowing that I get to sleep in
tomorrow and run some errands
AND I start my week off!!!!
This was my first full week back since
I got sick and although I made it through there
was many days that I wasn't feeling so hot.
Today included. We were up and early yesterday
and today getting replacement trees for the backyard
and getting a few new one for the front. Just getting up
and out of the house in the morning was such a chore.
I'm tired. I did happen to have a nap in my car
most days this week on my break which helped and
hopefully with one more week of R and R I will be
good to go for my next rotation! I have some long
stretches coming up {9 eves and then a stretch of 15}.

I couldn't be more excited for the first lake weekend of
the season. I'm already counting the days
until we can pack up and hit the road!
I love waking up to this.

Weekends at the farm

Well after 2 months of being a bored blogger I decided to
give this a go again. June and the first half of July have flown by.
I've spent almost 4 weeks trying to get over some
sort of virus. Thankfully I'm feeling like I'm on the mend.
{except for today- my throat and chest are killing me}
But hopefully this is the last of it. After almost $150 in
cold medication, an entire puffers worth of Ventolin, 21
doses of antibiotics, and countless ice packs, July is looking up!

We finally ventured out to my parents place this last weekend
and had such a great time. We were even able to get
2 rounds of golf in! The dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE being
at the farm and hanging out with Ruby {my parents dog}.
It was such a treat to get a good visit in with my
3 favourite little people. My nieces are seriously the cutest
kids around. Ellie is such a little helper. She is
almost 8 and such a dolly. Lucy is almost 6 and
stuck on the couch for the next few weeks with a broken leg.
And last is PENNY. She is the cutest little monster around.
At 3 years old she is such a little personality. When
Penny is in the room you know it!

The weekend playing golf got me hooked again.
Every time we play I always have so much fun but it
doesn't take long to forget that! Rhys bought me
some new shiny clubs so now I have to get out and
use them! We are excited to play our little hearts out for
the next few months and then hopefully get some time
in Phoenix this winter to keep up the skills!

How's your summer going?!?!?!

Eddie loves being in the sun all day
