Last night I watched a documentary called Food, Inc
and let's just say there will be a few changes made
around our home. The film was horrifying and
left me feeling a bit helpless in my lack of sleep state of
mind by the end of my shift. Needless to say I dreamt
about ways we could grocery shop.... 4 hours
of sleep later and I'm wide awake!
The good thing about having such a long day being
awake is that I've been able to do quite a bit
of research on how to buy more locally than we have been.
I've always tried to buy organic where possible but
I think it's time to step it up a bit.
We are very fortunate that we both have good jobs
that afford us to be a bit more flexible when it comes
to having disposable income. Lucky for us we also
live in a big city that has a lot to offer. It might take a few
days to implement some change but I'm hopeful that by
next weekend I will have a game plan made up
and good changes will be heading our way!
For all those who haven't seen it. Please do.
It's actually a really important message with a ton of
information about where our food comes from and
the way WE CAN change the way
our food is processed.
Interested to hear more and see how you will align your thoughts and actions!
ReplyDeleteTravis and I use Spud (www.spud.ca) I meal plan for the week usually on Friday then order everything I can on Spud on Saturday and we usually have to just go to Saefway for 1 or 2 things. Recently I switched things up and meal planned for the whole month but kept our order to weekly. That's seems to work pretty well for me.
