Being mortgage free has also given us a
ton of extra cash to be able to have fun
with! We were finally able
to go to Victoria, which
is something we've talked about
forever but always had somewhere else
our extra money "should" go to.
Between fences, and decks, and normal
household expenses, quick weekend
trips to the coast were never on the
top of the "to-do" list.
Our trip was
AMAZING.
AMAZING.
AMAZING.
We splurged on the hotel which paid off
big time. We stayed at the Magnolia on the top
floor which couldn't have given us better
location, we had a harbor view and the
bathroom was to die for. Now
remember, we've been using
campground loonie showers for a month
so having a private bathroom where
you didn't have to walk 400m to,
was quite the luxury! I may or may not
have had 5 baths in 3 days! We did all the
tourist things- Empress, Royal BC museum,
water taxi, whale watching, fishermans wharf,
Butchart gardens, Beaconhill park. It was the
best trip and I can't wait to go back
and do it again. I also realized it would
live there in an instant. It has all the amenities
of a big city but it's not. Plus it's green all year
around. Definitely food for thought. It's not part of any
plan but something I'm keeping in the maybe pile!
